Christian Counseling Service was created in 1978 by five congregations: State
Street Christian Church, First Presbyterian Church, Redlands United Church of
Christ, First Baptist Church and First United Methodist Church. Led by their
respective pastors in "Shared Ministries", these churches midwifed a counseling
ministry "open to the spiritual dimension of human life". Since that time, CCS has
grown into a professionally accredited, interfaith agency serving the San
Bernardino Central Valley and surrounding communities. Moreover, our family of
supporting churches has increased to include 19 diverse congregations.
CCS' counselors have accrued the education, training and wisdom needed to
deal with the stresses caused by today's fast paced, demanding lifestyle. All have
graduate degrees in mental health and ministry that prepare them to focus on the
needs of each particular client. Rooted in faith, we practice proven therapeutic
methods based on current research.
